Piedmont - Roero - IT

Chris & Aaron is like a trip tale into the mind of a creative soul

Pedemontis, Bajet, Barbera d'Alba DOC. The grape variety Barbera is widespread in the Piedmont region and finds its most elegant expression in the Alba territory, where in 1600 it was imported from Asti. Traditionally considered as a table wine, until a few decades ago it had a simple and unglamorous image. In recent times it saw an important quality improvement due to a more accurate vinification process and better grape selection.
Thanks to this improvement of its organoleptic features, Barbera can now compete with the most appreciated grape varieties. In the Piedmont’s dialect the name Bajet means the young conscript soldier, as a symbol of the vitality typical of youth in a wine meant for early drinking.

Wine type: red wine - Bajet, Barbera d'Alba DOC

Alcohol content: 14°

Region: Roero - Piedmont - Italy

Grape/Blend: 100% Barbera

Type soil: typical sandy soil yields wines with particular elegance and finesse, delicately rich in aromas.

Colour: dense ruby colour.

Aroma: wide and complex bouquet with hints of red fruits, fruit jam, cinnamon, vanilla and pepper.

Tasting notes: naturally with a good acidity, reduced in the Alba-d.o.c. featuring a softer, full taste.

Serving suggestions: savoury first dishes, roasts, game, aged cheeses, or just for meditation.

Please note that it is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic liquor if you are under the age of 18.

Editor's note: Local and traditional varieties. We grow local and traditional varieties: Barbera and Nebbiolo for the reds; Arneis and Favorita for the whites. Varieties with centuries-old history, these have been brought back to life and reintroduced within the closed-cycle viticulture that we practice. The scent of the sands. Long ago, Roero was a coastal area, and this can still be seen in the large presence of sand mixed with limestone that forms the soils. Even today, it is easy to find fossils of shells, small fish and phyllites (fossilized leaves) with the naked eye: this is the sign of the shallow waters and lush coastal vegetation once present here. The soil in Roero is generally younger than the one found in the nearby Langhe. It is softer and more water absorbent, characteristics that endow wines with natural finesse.
