Kevin - My Path into Tea
I have sought to immortalize the memories of the moments that taught me to walk the streets of the Tea. It’s beautiful seeing how there’s still forms of elegance and conviviality with how we do certain things. These cultural values are retained and passed down from each generation. Obviously things aren’t completely the same as changes are bound to happen, but I think it’s beautiful seeing how there’s still forms that recur with how we do certain things. I think it contributes to why at times it could feel like I captured a real moment in any era. This re-propose how certain cultural rituals are carried out is vital to ensuring younger generations are able to retain a sense of identity.
I didn’t learn Tea from a book. I learned it by walking through tea gardens, sipping in silence, watching skilled hands respectfully work each leaf. I made mistakes. Then I started over. Every blend I create comes from that: from time, from listening, from a certain idea of beauty.
To me, Tea is not a product - it’s a gesture. Every tea, every infusion is an invitation to slow down. To prepare the water, choose a cup that feels like you, and let yourself be surprised - by a new flavor or one that takes you back. There’s no need for ceremony: only the will to cherish that moment. That’s what I try to offer. To give value back to time, before it slips away. It’s not nostalgia. It’s something deeper: the joy of seeing that there are still quiet, meaningful ways to feel well. That some rituals - even if they shift with time - help us remember who we are. And that’s what I feel, every time I pour Tea into a cup: the sense of having captured something true, however small.
