Champagne - Bouzy - FR

Chris & Aaron is like a trip tale into the mind of a creative soul

Champagne Paul Clouet, Bouzy MV Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs.  Originally two Champagne houses from different families, houses Bonnaire and Paul Clouet now share a history of dedication, quality, and romance. The history begins with Paul Clouet establishing his self-titled house in 1907 in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy, located in the Montagne de Reims sub-region of Champagne. Bouzy has since been home to the Clouet family for over a century, with Paul Clouet’s granddaughter, Marie-Thérèse taking ownership of the winery in 1992. Similarly, Bonnaire was founded nearby in the Grand Cru village of Cramant, in the Cotes des Blancs sub-region, by Fernand Bouquemont in 1932. His grandson, Jean-Louis Bonnaire, took over in 1966 and built the Champagne Bonnaire reputation that exists today.

Wine type: champagne - Bouzy MV Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs

Alcohol content: 12°

Region: Bouzy and Chouilly - France.

Grape/blend: 100% Pinot noir.

Type soil: chalky

Colour: straw yellow.

Aroma: when tasted it is round, with a juicy acidity that makes the savoury taste really pleasant. It closes with a moderately persistent finish.

Tasting notes: on the nose there are citrus and fruity aromas, embellished with notes that recall honey and bread crust.

Serving suggestions: excellent for a special dinner, where it accompanies with great satisfaction baked fish and white meats prepared with elaborate but at the same time light recipes. Gives its best with crab meat tagliatelle.

Please note that it is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic liquor if you are under the age of 18.

Editor's note: Since half a century, the Clouet family has been a very productive and now well-recognized family of winemakers in Bouzy. Owner of the Paul Clouet estate, Marie-Thérése Clouet-Bonnaire has put all her trust in her husband Jean-Louis Bonnaire, a well-known winemaker in Cramant, for the elaboration of her wines. Paul Clouet is an independent wine producer. As a Récoltant-manipulant (RM), Paul Clouet guarantees a continuity in the style of their wines by being able to follow each step of the champagne elaboration from wine growing to wine making.
