Chris & Aaron is like a trip tale into the mind of a creative soul

Barons Rothschild Legende Bordeaux.Lovingly cared for by a multitude of winegrowers, the common characteristic of Bordeaux’s vineyards is the elegance and freshness of their wines which, while they reflect a rich culture and are surrounded by a certain grandeur, are nonetheless easy to drink. A wine for every day, for a dinner with friends, or a glass in front of the fire, the Collection’s Bordeaux Rouge is a well-balanced blend of traditional grape varieties consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. As the main variety, the Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine the classic elegance of the Lafite style, while the ageing gives it charm and a well-rounded character.

Wine type: red wine, Bordeaux - Domaine Barons de Rothschild.

Alcohol content: 12,5°

Region: Carruades, Saint Estéphe - France.

Grape/blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot.

Type soil: soil made up of fine deep gravel, mixed with aeolian sand on a subsoil of tertiary limestone.

Colour: deep crimson.

Aroma: expressive and flattering, combining intense aromas of red berries (blackberry, Morello cherry) with toasty and vanilla notes.

Tasting notes: round and fleshy, with good volume, full and well-integrated tannins, and a good fruit and liquorice finish.

Serving suggestions: perfect with grilled meats, meat dishes with sauce and assorted cheese. Serving 16/18°C.

Please note that it is an offence to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic liquor if you are under the age of 18.

Editor's note: While the first known reference to Lafite dates to 1234 with a certain Gombaud de Lafite, abbot of the Vertheuil Monastery north of Pauillac, Lafite’s mention as a medieval fief dates to the 14th century. The name Lafite comes from the Gascon language term “la hite”, which means “hillock”. There were probably already vineyards on the property at the time when the Ségur family organised the vineyard in the 17th century, and Lafite began to earn its reputation as a great winemaking estate. Jacques de Ségur was credited with the planting of the Lafite vineyard in the 1670s and in the early 1680s. On 8 August 1868, Baron James de Rothschild purchased Château Lafite, which had been placed under public sale through the inheritance of Ignace-Joseph Vanlerberghe. Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac - Bordeaux - France.
