Editor's note: Before the roman legions conquered the west liguria, the riviera tribes venerated a native god called bormanus. Adored and feared god of the waters, bormanus, according to the legend, lived in a thick and wild forest, maybe a mysterious sacred wood consecrated to him (lucus). Bormanus would derive from a divinity of the springs and this name makes us suppose that hot thermal waters gushed out in this zone. [Arma di Taggia, Liguria - Italy]
