Wine type: champagne - Louis Roederer, Theophile Brut
Alcohol content: 12°
Region: Reims - France.
Grape/blend: 1/3 Chardonnay, 1/3 Pinot Nero, 1/3 Meunier
Type soil: the soil is poor and rocky, the temperature is ideal in summer (partly due to the micro-climate created by the local wind, the Ora del Garda): vines here still co-exist alongside olive groves. The valley is more open here and the excellent sun exposure allows the grapes to ripen to perfection. The Montagne de Reims lies on a deep bed of chalk.
Colour: a pale light gold with long-lasting fine bubbles.
Aroma: on the nose there is a rich, subtle bouquet with hints of white flowers and hawthorn. The mouth offers a lively bite with a creamy structure
Tasting notes: it is perfectly balanced, full-bodied and generous, with a refined, lip-puckering zing adding just the right touch of provocation.
Serving suggestions: appetizers and first courses fish-based, oyster scallops and seafood.
